Choosing
the Right Server Upgrades
Fonality
has many choices to make your server more robust and redundant.
You may also choose to upgrade your server to an HP - which
comes standard with an on-site warranty - for a very reasonable
fee. |

Warranties - recommended!
You can upgrade your warranty on the Fonality Mini-Tower PC
Server or the Fonality 2U Rack-mount Server to include next
day parts replacement by UPS. Or you can
upgrade to one of our HP server solutions and take advantage
of HP’s standard Next Business Day on-site support (Onsite
warranty on server only. Add-on cards carry a 5 yr. mfr's
parts warranty.)

CPU Upgrades - speed up your system!
The Fonality Mini-Tower comes standard with a Celeron 2.5
GHz processor with an upgrade path to a 3.0 GHz Intel P4 processor,
which also ships standard on the HP Mini-Tower. Our 2U Rack-Mount
now comes standard with a 3.0 GHz Intel P4, upgradeable to
an Intel Dual-Core processor. The HP ProLiant
Rack-Mount server comes standard with a 2.0 GHz Intel Xeon
Dual-Core processor, and can be upgraded with a second Intel
Xeon Dual-Core processor. CPU upgrades must
be purchased and installed by Fonality or a professional certified
by Fonality to ensure socket compatibility and to maintain support
coverage.

3.
RAM Upgrades - speed up
your system!
Our base model PBXtra comes standard with 256MB RAM. This
is sufficient for either PBXtra Standard with less than 5
phones and not utilizing HUD, or for systems with low concurrent
call volume. If you expect your system to experience reasonably
high-loads (lots of people talking at the same time, or many
callers waiting in queues) you should upgrade your basic system
to 512MB or even 1 GB. Optional upgrades across the entire
Fonality line to 1GB of Memory or more are available. Memory
upgrades must be reviewed by Fonality or a professional certified
by Fonality to ensure compatibility with any existing memory
modules and to maintain support coverage.

4.
RAID Upgrades - protect
your valuable data
Studies have shown that the item most likely to fail in your
PC is your hard drive. For this reason, Fonality recommends
our incredibly affordable RAID-1 SATA Hard Drive Mirroring
solution. Please contact your Account
Executive to discuss your RAID upgrade path options, as exact
compatibility with your existing primary drive must be maintained.
In our experience, when upgrading from older servers, swapping
both the primary and secondary drives may be required. When
adding RAID capability to an existing non-RAID PBXtra server,
additional configuration fees will apply.

Live Backup Server - minimize
your downtime!
Fonality offers a clustered backup server option for maintaining
high availability of your PBXtra environment. Sleep with confidence
that your PBXtra deployment can handle any and all hardware
failures.* All of your critical configuration information
is replicated at our hybrid-hosted facility as long as your
PBXtra maintains presence with us. With our synchronized Live
Backup capability, all of your voice mail messages, voice
prompts, and MP3 music media files can also be replicated
on an identically configured on-site, standby server. With
this system in place, and a coordinated fail-over of your
carrier connectivity, you can be back up and online in a matter
of minutes. Pricing will
vary depending upon the specific server selected. This includes
complete professional configuration of your cluster and initial
synchronization by Fonality.
*
Please Note: The Live Backup Stand-by Server must be identically
configured to the primary server, including the same number
of Base Expansion Cards and configured ports. Identical RAID
configurations must also be maintained. A system failover
is manually initiated in coordination with physically moving
your phone lines to the Live Backup Server, and changing your
Backup PBXtra primary IP Address for quick disaster recovery
in minutes, not hours.
